Terms of Service

These terms ("Terms") govern your use of the AnKMADE translation service at ankmade.com (the "Service"), operated by AnKMADE ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

AnKMADE lets you translate text and supported document formats (currently InDesign IDML files) using automated translation engines. Anonymous use is available with lower daily limits; creating a free or paid account raises those limits (see our pricing page for current tiers).

2. Accounts

• You must provide a valid email address (or use Google sign-in) and keep your login credentials confidential.
• You're responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or abuse the Service (see Section 4).

3. Your content

You retain all rights to the text and documents you submit for translation ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content, you grant us a limited, temporary license to process it — including sending it to a translation engine — solely to provide you with a translated result. As described in our Privacy Policy, we don't retain a copy of Your Content or the translated output beyond what's needed to deliver your result (uploaded files and outputs are deleted automatically shortly after processing).

You're responsible for making sure you have the right to submit Your Content for translation, and that it doesn't violate any law or third party's rights (see Section 4).

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, or that you don't have the right to share.
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limiting, or access controls (e.g. by rotating IP addresses, sharing accounts to bypass tier limits, or automating signups).
• Probe, scan, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our infrastructure.
• Use the Service to send spam, malware, or to otherwise abuse the mail features.
• Reverse-engineer, resell, or use the Service to build a directly competing product without our permission.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of this section, and may report unlawful activity to relevant authorities.

5. Usage limits & availability

Each tier (anonymous, free, paid) has daily character and file limits, described on our pricing page and enforceable at our discretion to keep the Service fair and stable for everyone. We aim for high availability but don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may perform maintenance that temporarily affects access.

6. Payment & plans

Some tiers may be offered as paid plans. Where a paid plan is available, pricing and billing terms will be shown at the point of purchase and are incorporated into these Terms. We currently assign and change tiers manually — if that changes to self-serve billing, this section will be updated to reflect the payment provider and refund/cancellation terms used.

7. No warranty on translation quality

Automated translation is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that translations will be accurate, complete, or fit for any particular (including legal, medical, or safety-critical) purpose. Please have important translations reviewed by a qualified human translator before relying on them.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AnKMADE is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including losses resulting from translation errors, service interruptions, or data loss. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (e.g. for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or consumer rights that cannot be waived).

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time, and may ask us to delete your account by emailing contact@ankmade.com. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or discontinue the Service (or parts of it) with reasonable notice where practical.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date above; continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you're a consumer in the EU/EEA, you may also be entitled to protections under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
